That's What I Like

What's good friends?

So this week was really busy once again. So this week we had P-day and then after that we had a few hours to work. Then the Quincy ZL's came and stayed at our place because we had MLC the next night. So we drove like 1.5 hours to Iowa City for MLC we sat in the gym from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm so that was great. We didn't get home till about 9:00 that night. So after MLC we had another busy day on Wednesday getting President and the AP's and our training ready for ZTM. Then Thursday we spent in Macomb Illinois on exchanges trying to help the Elders find some solid people to teach. We had a good day there and found 3 new investigators for them so hopefully that jump starts their area a bit. On Friday we had a good ZTm and everything went as planned so that's always good. President Badger's training was all about being sanctified and consecrated which is always good and something we as missionaries should always be working on.

This weekend was really good missionary work wise though. We taught a lot of really cool people. The highlight of the week was that our RC Kara came back into town from her work trip! It was great to have her back in Church and to see her get a calling and everything! She's solid! We got her kids to Church as well and will be working on getting them all baptized on May 6th! So pray that we can help them make their date!

So I think a new thing I'm going to put in my emails are some stories about my crazy Hawaiian Companion who goes home in 10 weeks. It's pretty entertaining to see him at the end of his rope lol.

Story of the week:

Watched Elder Anitok climb on to the roof of our apartment and start dancing and singing "That's What I like" by bruno mars. (He thinks that cause he's from the Island as bruno that means he can dance and sing just like him..)  and people walking by literally stopped to watch him act a fool.

But yeah that's all I got for this week!

Love you guys

Driving, Driving, Driving

What's uppp loved ones?

This week was really good, Burlington is full of insane people and lots of crazy things happen everyday. But it's a party, I love the Nauvoo Zone all the missionaries are straight homies so it's great to be a part of all the action down here on the Mississippi. But this week was awesome like I said, the whole zone worked hard and saw a lot of blessings for it.

Here's some Highlights of this past week:

-First and foremost, our investigator Kara came to Church again this week! This time she brought 3 of her awesome kids as well! They are all excited to work towards being baptized on March 25th! The kids are all awesome and loved Church as well, the Ward did a great job of bringing them in and fellowshipping them! With those 4 people on date in our area, the zone has a total of 9. That's the most this zone has had in a longgg time. So we are pumped.

-We had interviews with President and Sister Badger this past Wednesday it was awesome. Interviews are always kind of a stressful day trying to get the whole zone through the process in a timely manner. But it was awesome to be able to talk top them one on one. They took Elder Gundersen and I out to lunch afterwards and it was great to talk to them just us four and get to know them better.

-I think one of my favorite things about being the Zone Leaders in Nauvoo is the fact that we are responsible for like 8 Senior Couple Missionaries. They are literally so funny, like the other day one of them called me asking me to help them figure out their Microwave..Old people lol. Just kidding though they are tight, and so wise and spiritual! I love it.

-We were at dinner with a member who's an EMT. He was telling us about the crazy things that have happened in Burlington this week. My two favorites were aq crazy guy with an Ak-47 was running through a neighborhood shooting at house randomly. Also there was a shootout between two gangs in the middle of Downton. "You can take the people out of Chicago, but you can't take the Chicago out of the people"- Every White person in Burlington's favorite one liner to tell us.

-So this week we will be spending a LOT of time in the car. Today we drove 30 Minutes to Nauvoo through Illinois so we wouldn't have to take the toll bridge. Then we will drive an hour to Macomb Illinois for a baptismal interview after P-day. Then we will drive an hour and a half back to B-town. Then Wednesday we will drive an hour to Keokuk for a D-meeting. Then an hour back to Burlington for another D-meeting. Then On Thursday we will be driving 3.5 Hours to Des Moines for exchanges with the AP's. Then 3.5 hours back. Gundy and I are goona know each other real well after this week lol.

-On Saturday Elder Gundersen and I wrecked two ghetto guys from Chicago at ball. And when I say we I mean, I sat back and shot some three's while Gundy beat them two on one down low lol. #WhiteBoyPower

-Last cool thing about this week. I got to go inside a temple! For the first time in like 16 Months lol! I got to help clean the temple it was awesome. Then the Lady took us up to inside the tower and we could see like the whole Mississippi river with a thunderstorm going on it was tight!

But yeah that's pretty much been our week here. Hopefully we don't die of boredom in the car this week. Love you all!

Okay Idk if I mentioned this at all with all the crazy stuff. But two weeks ago after MLC I was reunited with my brother at the Iowa City Mall. I've never been so happy to see someone.

When a fire starts to burn

What is up everybody? I hope you all had a great week and that you had the opportunity to share the gospel with someone! Our week here in Waverly has been kind of exhausting, it felt like the week was never going to end to be honest. But it was still full of awesome and spiritual moments, along with some really funny ones as well! So this week we were finding for pretty much the entire week, which is always good for stories and funny experiences. We also had a great district meeting all the way out in Manchester, Iowa which is like 2 hours from Waverly haha. Our district area is massive, so district meeting always takes up a huge portion of the day because it is like a 6 hour ordeal all things considered. One funny thing that happened at district meeting was that Elder Sjoblom and I were so tired the whole morning before the meeting and during the drive that we fell asleep in the Church parking lot waiting for the Sisters to show up haha! We were asleep for probably a solid half hour and I was rudely woken up by our Sister from Samao Sister Tauti, opening the door and yelling "Good Morning Elder Milligan!" in here crazy accent it was super funny. I like screamed cause she caught me so off guard lol.
Tracting this week was pretty slow and no one seemed to be interested at all. The most interesting thing that happened wasn't particularly spiritual but it was definitely memorable haha. What happened was Elder Sjoblom and I were walking up to this house and we could here a bass bumping inside so I figured it was a frat house or something for the college in Waverly. But I was wrong. As we get closer I look through the window on the door and I see these two OLD women. They were literally so old, they had to be in their 90's at least. The lady who answered looked like the old version of Rose from Titanic! But anyways I look through this door and I see these two old women doing like a dance routine in front of the TV with the speakers just bumping the song "When a Fire Starts to Burn" by disclosure. For those of you who have not heard this song, I'd strongly encourage you to look it up and as you listen, try and imagine the scene I am describing to you. These ladies are just going hard to this song and I am trying so hard not to laugh, but the lady answers the door and is just like "Sorry it's a bad time, my Pilates club is over" and I was just like "Oh sorry to interrupt, I really love that song though!" and then we left it was super off the wall and we couldn't stop laughing about it lol.
The best thing that happened to us this week though was that Sherri made it to Church again! And this time she brought all the cute black kids!! Haha it was a really awesome experience to see some of the families come up and fellowship her. She stayed all three hours and said she can't wait for next week! She is doing awesome and should make her baptismal date and we are sooooooo stoked for her. We are continuing to work with her and she has accepted every thing we have taught her with so much faith it's truly amazing to see the spirit work with her.
Well I hope you all enjoy your week! But I have a major request, EVERYONE WISH MY AMAZING AND LOVELY MOTHER A HAPPY BIRTHDAY THIS FRIDAY!!! I would really appreciate it if you all could give her a hug for me and tell her happy birthday. I wish I could be there to celebrate it with her. But she is the one who prepared me the most to be out here on the mish so she only has herself to blame I guess ;)
Love you all, go share the gospel!!
